Here are some additional photos of the UMI interface in action. The biggest advantage of the UMI is the ability to control your iPod or iPhone from the COMMAND controller versus your multi-function steering wheel with the regular iPod integration kit. I have included what the real-time traffic screen looks like. Navigation controls are easy to use. You can control your view point from your COMMAND controller… heading up, birds eye view and settings in between by simply pull back or pushing forward on the controller. The I use the UMI the more I am impressed with it. I think for current C-Class owners who want navigation this is a no brainer.

I own a 320E 4Matic without Nav. I like it and would like to keep it and purchase a C300 4 matic. with all options using my cash for clunkers money from a Jaguar XJS.E 350 4matic is thus not an option because of price. However, the navigation from multimedia package does not include real time traffic.I looked into the UMI as option but prefer the pop up bigger screen and other goodies included in the multimedia pkg. How can one get real time traffic? I currently use a portable Garmnin with T but hate the wires and it falling off the dash. It’s traffic signal from Navtech is not reliable. After 6 months, it is not working. Alhough under warranty, it took 3 days to trouble shoot and now is back at Garmin and will take 10 working days before they return it. Any way I can include traffic with the COMAND NAV SYSTEM offered? How Is the Sirus radio traffic signal? Any other alternative?
I think I remember reading in the 2010 C, that it will get real time traffic with multimedia package. I cant find where I read it though. No other way to get it in the 2009’s than the UMI(and it’s free). I will continue looking to see if I can find the answer for sure. Let me know how I can help further.

Thank you Adamd but I am pretty sure there is no traffic signal in the multimedia package. Initially, I was told there is traffic signal but now, I am told otherwise by the dealer. They suggested the UMI. Wonder if anyone traffic signal can be added to the unit?
