Mercedes-Benz Splitview Technology

Available for all S/CL-Class models, you now have the ability to view two different sources on the same screen. For example, while the driver is using the radio or navigation system, the front passenger can enjoy a DVD video on the very same display screen. The all-new color screen allows for the display of two different images simultaneously. A filter, masking the display, divides the image in such a way that it is viewing angle specific. Therefore, only a single visual source can be seen on either side. As a result, the driver and front passenger can view completely different content on the same screen at the same time – the effect is beyond belief.

The all-new SPLITVIEW system is integrated into COMAND. The 8-inch active matrix color screen allows for the display of two different images simultaneously. A filter, masking the display, divides the image in such a way that it is viewing angle specific. Therefore, only a single visual source can be seen on either side. As a result, the driver and front passenger can view completely different content on the same screen at the same time – the effect is beyond belief.

When active, the driver has full access to the COMAND system while the front passenger uses the included remote control and wireless headphones to enjoy their own entertainment choice.

MSRP is $700

Due to various state laws, SPLITVIEW is currently prohibited on vehicles registered in the following 14 states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin.
