New JD Power Study: Mercedes-Benz has most satisfied customers

Mercedes-Benz enjoys a higher level of customer satisfaction than any other automobile brand. This is confirmed by a large-scale survey conducted by the world-renowned J.D. Power and Associates Index on the satisfaction of car buyers. Mercedes-Benz took first place among all car brands in this study. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the CLK also headed their respective categories. This means that Mercedes-Benz drivers are the most satisfied motorists. Continue reading

Mercedes Heritage July 2010

80 years ago – 18 and 19 July 1930: Rudolf Caracciola won the Grand Prix of Ireland – and in so doing, the Irish Times Trophy – driving a Mercedes-Benz SSK. His average speed for the 480-kilometre course was 139 km/h. The SSK was an advanced development of the SS model; with its 7-litre displacement, the engine developed 125 kW without and 165 kW with supercharger.
80 years ago – July 1930: A special-production Mercedes-Benz “Nürburg” 460 was delivered to Pope Pius XI. It was the brand’s first “Popemobile”.

Memorial Day

Last night I found myself watching D-Day/Return of the 507th on GPB TV last night.  It was a great documentory recalling the D-Day invasion and following days.  It was amazing hearing the stories and experiences that our guys endured.

The documentory was based around the reunion and unveiling of a memorial for 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.  Towards the end one of the Veterens was aproached by a youg French boy, who asked him “why were you here on D-Day?”  The man paused for a minute to think, his reply was “so that you can be here today”.  I thought that was a great summary of what Memorial Day was all about.

I’d like to give a special thank you to all who serve in the armed forces and to those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.                                THANKS

E Class Safety – Setting the Standard

The evidence is now clear: drivers of Mercedes vehicles are safer on the road than drivers of other car brands. This is the result of a study of Mercedes accident research based on official, anonymous data samples from the Federal Office of Statistics. Having looked at 18,748 accidents resulting in personal injury during the period from 2003 to 2007, the study found that the risk of being seriously or fatally injured as the driver of a E-Class, is 10.4 percent lower than for comparable vehicles of other brands.

The study did not even allow for the fact that Mercedes-Benz vehicles are involved in accidents less frequently than the vehicles of other brands – primarily because, among other reasons, Mercedes-Benz was the first manufacturer to introduce ESP® across the board. The study of accident severity only took into account accidents resulting in personal injury. The criteria were initial registration from 2002 onwards, as well as a performance and weight class corresponding to the E?Class. Continue reading

Mercedes Safety-IIHS Top Picks

Both the C Class and the E Class have both achieved “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).  To qualify for this award the vehicles must have a score of “Good” in the following categories: front, side, roll over and rear crash protection.

In addition to the IIHS award, the C Class was also awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP (the European New Car Assessment Program), making it one of the Safest cars on the market.
