Mercedes-Benz holds over 85,000 patents for the automobile most of which are safety related. Through the introduction of these numerous pioneering safety solutions and technologies, Mercedes-Benz continues to define new standards for vehicle safety. One of the latest to be introduced is Collision Prevention Assist Plus or CPA+ for short. A part of the larger Intelligent Drive System, CPA+ adds autonomous braking to the current Collision Prevention Assist System.

2012 Mercedes-Benz Model Year Updates
C-Class Sedan
With over 2,000 new parts, the MY12 facelifted C-Class Sedan marks the most extensive facelift in the history of Mercedes-Benz. Along with the completely redesigned interior, highlights for the new model year include the following:
- C250 – New 1.8L I4 (201hp), turbocharged, direct injection engine

The introduction of the all new MY12 C-Class Coupe will allow Mercedes-Benz to compete for the first time in the entry level luxury coupe segment. The coupe will share many of the same styling cues found on the sedan such as a completely redesigned interior, new generation of telematics, high resolution color instrument display and increased levels of standard equipment. SLS and CLS Voted Top Car of the Year
Stuttgart – The readers of the German trade journal “Auto Zeitung” have voted the new Mercedes-Benz CLS the best model in the luxury segment. Another first place – for the second time in succession – went to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as best super sports car. Both cars received the renowned “Auto Trophy”. Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, and Dr. Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management responsible for Group Research and Head of Development, Mercedes-Benz Cars, took receipt of the prestigious awards yesterday evening at the Meilenwerk centre in Düsseldorf. Meanwhile, the campaign for the Mercedes SLS AMG, entitled “Is it still a car?” was voted the best advertising campaign of the year. Mercedes-Benz CLS wins Golden Steering Wheel Award
More than a quarter of a million readers and a top-class jury comprising 40 automotive experts and prominent figures have voted the new Mercedes-Benz CLS the best new product in the executive and luxury class segment. As a result, “Bild am Sonntag”, “Auto Bild” and 26 associated European publications have awarded the new four-door coupé model the “Golden Steering Wheel” – one of the most important automotive awards in Europe. This coveted award was officially presented to Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars, in Berlin yesterday evening. Continue reading
